First electronic waste collection event held. Over 200 residents and businesses participated in this event in which over 55,000 lbs. of waste collected.

 

Free household hazardous waste collection service for homeboundand disabled Ventura residents.

 

The City used $140,000 in grant money from the State to construct a permanent household hazardous waste (HHW) collection facility at Gold Coast Recycling.

 

Fleet Maintenance modified 22 diesel-powered trucks to comply with the new California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.

Reduction of greenhouse gas emission of carbon dioxide by over 5 million pounds through the use of renewable energy, energy conservation and vehicle fuel efficiency.
 
Big Belly Solar-Powered Compacting Trash Can placed in Downtown.
 

Energy Conservation: The City replaced over 2,700 old lights with super energy efficient lights at five major City buildings.

 

Collection of over 700,000 pounds of household hazardous waste from residents.

 

City saves 1,500 gallons of gasoline and prevented 30,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions through its acquisition of 15 hybrid vehicles.
