I love Ventura. Our location between the foothills and the ocean is unique and beautiful. We have great beaches, parks and bike paths, and a picturesque harbor. Our downtown is historic, eclectic and alive. Our community is diverse, vibrant and friendly.

As we plan for the future, important decisions will need to be made to retain Ventura's small-town character while providing quality services to a growing population. Our streets need to be paved and landscaped. The cultural arts need to be nurtured. Children, the elderly, poor, homeless and mentally ill need to be cared for. Historic buildings need restoration. New buildings need strict design guidelines. The need for new housing has to be balanced with open space and agricultural land issues.  Development needs to be planned comprehensively and wisely.

I serve on the City Council with a moderate, balanced, common sense approach. I work with the citizens of Ventura and the city staff to make decisions with vision, fairness and fiscal responsibility.
