I see a great need in our county for collaborative efforts which will improve the quality of life for all our citizens. Carefully balancing environmental, agricultural, social and economic interests is vital to the future prosperity and health of Ventura County residents and to the protection of our precious natural resources. We are at an important juncture where the choices we make today can impact the lives of generations to come.
For the last eight years, I have represented a large portion of the district as a Ventura City Councilmember, with two years as Mayor. During my political career I have never once taken a stand with an eye on my own re-election. I have made decisions only after listening to various points of view, with the best interests of the people in mind.
I have proven three times that I can be elected without compromising my principles. And as an independent candidate, I have done so largely without the support of entrenched special interests.
